Assessing and Elevating Testing Capability to Support Large-Scale Digital Transformation.

As part of a major digital transformation programme, the client recognised that its testing capability was not keeping pace with delivery demands. Processes were inconsistent, lacked automation, and fell short of industry best practices. TXP was engaged to assess the current state of testing and define a clear roadmap for improvement.

The Client

A UK-based professional services firm, part of a global network operating across 167 countries and 1,600 offices. The client delivers tax, audit, assurance, advisory, and outsourcing services to a wide range of sectors, with a strong focus on quality and scale.

The Challenge

  • Outdated testing practices not aligned with modern delivery methods.
  • Limited scalability to support transformation at speed and scale.
  • Lack of visibility into test maturity across teams and functions.

The Solution

TXP conducted a comprehensive test capability assessment across the organisation. This included a detailed review of testing delivery and its integration with wider project and IT functions. TXP engaged with 20 stakeholders across delivery and IT teams to gather real-world insights and understand current maturity levels.

The assessment identified gaps in process, tooling, and capability. TXP then delivered a prioritised roadmap of actionable recommendations to improve test maturity, drive automation, and align testing practices with the client’s transformation goals.

The Benefits

  • Clear visibility into current testing maturity, enabling targeted improvements.
  • Prioritised recommendations, supporting process optimisation and capability uplift.
  • Roadmap for automation, guiding the shift toward more efficient, scalable testing.
  • Improved working practices, with implementation already underway using TXP’s QA expertise.
