Convex: From data engineering to full-stack technology partnership
TXP partnered with Convex to consolidate fragmented data into a single, trusted source of truth, and has since expanded into software engineering, contributing to the risk assessment platform central to Convex’s underwriting, actuarial, finance and regulatory operations.
The Client
Convex is an international specialty insurer and reinsurer, operating across London and Europe. The business brings together experienced underwriting talent with deep specialist expertise across complex commercial insurance. Operating without the constraints of legacy systems, Convex has built from the outset around modern technology, operational efficiency, and the sophisticated requirements of large commercial clients.
The Challenge
As Convex developed its operations, data was accumulating across the organisation – valuable, but fragmented across multiple systems and silos. Without a unified view, driving strategy, managing risk and making informed decisions at pace was harder than it needed to be.
- At the same time, the business needed to move quickly. Building out data engineering capability internally from scratch was neither the fastest nor most efficient path forward.

- Consolidating fragmented data into a single, trusted source of truth across the organisation.
- Building automated, scalable data pipelines capable of handling complex insurance data.

The Solution
TXP was initially engaged to augment Convex’s data engineering capability, embedding experienced engineers directly alongside their existing team.
The focus was Convex’s Single Source of Truth initiative. TXP built automated cloud data pipelines handling data ingestion, conformance and categorisation, with processed data loaded into Snowflake as the company-wide data source. The system now underpins decision-making across the entire organisation, supporting data warehousing and analytics, data quality and governance, risk analysis, financial forecasting, regulatory and broker reporting, and insurance policy tracking and investment insights.

As the data foundation matured, so did the scope of the partnership. Convex asked TXP to extend their involvement into software engineering, contributing to the development of a business-critical risk assessment platform central to underwriting, actuarial, finance and regulatory operations. TXP engineers work alongside Convex’s teams to design and deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions built for long-term reliability.
